If you want dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, or veneers, you could be waiting for weeks while the dental lab creates and ships them. However, at the dental practice of Robert P. Sherman, you can have these restorations available and attached to your teeth in one day. Using the CEREC® software system, we help you save time and money.

CEREC® was initially developed at the University of Zurich in 1980. It wasn’t until 1987 that the first CEREC® system became available for use. Today, thousands of dentists create restorations in their office with this software system, helping their patients save time and money because only one visit is needed to prepare the teeth and the restoration.

How does CEREC® work? By using CAD/CAM technology (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing). This software uses a picture of your teeth to create a computer generated 3D image of the restoration. This image is sent to a 3D printer, the CEREC® Milling Unit, to create the dental restoration from a ceramic block.

With CEREC®, you don’t need to wear a temporary restoration for several weeks while waiting for the permanent one to arrive. Call our office today to ask about how CEREC® can give you a great smile.
